A good description naturally leads the examiner towards the diagnosis.

D3 – Differentials

Think Broadly... Then Narrow Down

Many residents either give only one diagnosis...

Or ten differentials!

Neither approach is ideal.

Instead, think systematically.

"Why is this diagnosis less likely?"

Don't panic.

Simply defend your reasoning using:

Patient's age
Gender
Clinical presentation
Imaging findings
Disease behaviour
Epidemiology

Radiology is not just about naming a disease.

Prepare for the Questions Before They're Asked
